Even in plugs without a cord grip electricians were able to fix cords in a secure way. The method shown below asks for expertise, patience and craftsmen that are not paid by the piece.

The shown plug is a 1930s Felmas type 6789 plug, but the method to fix cords could be used on many types of simple plugs.   {RH}
